Frank Thornton's present TV role is playing Herbert 'Truly' Truelove in the BBC comedy Last of the Summer Wine. The series follows the antics of three mischievous pensioners who while away their retirement in a succession of childish pranks. The comedy is set in and around a little town in the north of England and has become the BBC's longest running comedy.
Presently,
Shirley Brahms alias Wendy Richard is staring in Eastenders, which is the UK's
most popular soap opera.
She has recently
released her autobiography entitled 'Wendy Richard...No
'S': My Life Story.' I must admit I have yet to read this biography, but
if the critics reviews are anything to go by it is well worth a read.
Publishers Weekly (2001) describes it as a 'chummy, forthright
autobiography', in which she recounts her 12-year stint in Are You Being
Served?, her struggles as a single mum and three marriages!
(At this rate she'll catch up with Liz Taylor). It sounds like
there's plenty to keep them all gossiping back a Grace
Brothers.
